Numerous national, regional, and state honors have been awarded to the LHS student body, faculty, and administration.

DR. PRENTISS LEA

Superintendent -

Dr. Prentiss Lea has served as the District 128 superintendent since July 2008. Prior to that, he served as the associate superintendent in the district for three years. Prentiss brings a broad base of high school administrative and educational experiences and his passion for the success of all students to his role as the D128 Chief Executive Officer. He served as a principal for 12 years at Glenbard North, Rich East and Crete-Monee High Schools. In addition, Prentiss served as an assistant principal, dean, director of student activities, department chair, business education teacher, head wrestling and varsity assistant football coach and student council advisor. As a principal, he worked collaboratively with faculty, parents, communities and students to develop data driven school improvement plans, which led to increased student achievement.In addition, Prentiss has worked as a consultant and lecturerin leadership,school improvement planning and school climate. As superintendent, his responsibilities include all facets of strategic planning; school improvement; curriculum, instruction and assessment; finance; communications and personnel. Prentiss holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership from Capella University, Minneapolis, MN. In addition, Prentiss holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Governors State University, University Park, IL., and a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Manchester College, North Manchester, IN.

 

DR. TOM KOULENTES

Libertyville High School Principal -

We welcome Dr. Tom Koulentes as the new principal of Libertyville High School. Tom joins us from Highland Park High School where he served as Principal for the past three years. Tom has spent his entire career at HPHS, serving as a teacher and administrator since 1995.  Dr. Koulentes holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Studies Education from the University of IL, Urbana-Champaign, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction​ (M. Ed)​ from National-Louis University, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership​ (CAS)  from National-Louis University, and his Doctor of Education (Ed. D) from National-Louis University, Chicago, IL.

 

Dr. Koulentes believes that great high schools are built upon a foundation of strong, positive relationships and accrued trust with all members of the school community. Valuing innovation, creativity and student engagement in school, Dr. Koulentes is thrilled to partner with all of our school's academic, athletic, fine art, and extracurricular programs. LHS could not be more excited to have Tom ​as part of the LHS ​Wildcat  team!
